I Am Sober is a leading sobriety tracking and support app helping people worldwide on their recovery journey. We're a small, mission-driven team with a powerful product that generates tens of thousands of organic downloads daily. Our users trust us during some of the most important moments of their lives, and we take that responsibility seriously.
The Role
We're looking for a Head of Growth Marketing who can help us scale our already significant organic reach. This is a high-impact role where you'll own our growth strategy and execution across channels. You'll join a lean team where your work directly translates to helping more people access recovery support.
This isn't a paid ads role. We're looking for someone who understands the nuances of app store optimization, organic social, content marketing, community-driven growth, and the modern techniques that help apps grow sustainably without heavy ad spend.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategies to scale our organic download growth from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of daily installs.
- Own app store optimization (ASO) across the App Store and Google Play, including keyword strategy, creative testing, and conversion optimization.
- Build and scale organic social media presence across relevant platforms.
- Create and implement content strategies that drive discovery and engagement.
- Identify and leverage viral growth loops and product-led growth opportunities.
- Analyze user behavior and conversion funnels to identify growth opportunities.
- Build partnerships and collaborations that expand our reach.
- Work closely with our product team to implement growth features and improvements.
- Track, measure, and report on growth metrics and experiment outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, with a strong focus on organic/unpaid channels.
- Proven track record of scaling consumer apps through organic strategies.
- Deep expertise in app store optimization and mobile app growth mechanics.
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, content virality, and community building.
- Data-driven approach with experience crafting experiments and interpreting results.
- Scrappy, resourceful mindset - you're comfortable wearing multiple hats and getting things done.
- Genuine passion for our mission and the impact we're making in people's lives.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a remote-first environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in health, wellness, or social impact apps.
- Understanding of the recovery community and its unique dynamics.
- Content creation skills (writing, video, or design).
- Experience with PR and earned media strategies.
- Technical skills for implementing tracking and analytics.
